I was looking for a shot of the river bend through the branches. This is what I took the first time. When I got home I saw the tree in the distance and thought, oh well, some photographer in the sky was looking after me that day. I shot this in Lilliwaup, Wa. at the delta of a creek emptying into Puget Sound. After awhile, I turned away from the big water implied behind the outburst of houses in the distance, took a breath and let the quiet of the place inside me, as if stepping out of time and into a dream.
